Mobile Application (OTIS Field)
American Rooter & Drain operates the OTIS Field mobile application ("App"), available exclusively to authorized employees and contractors. This section describes how the App collects and uses information in addition to the practices described above.
Information collected by the App includes:
- Location data — GPS coordinates are collected while the App is in use to support job proximity detection, automatic clock-in/clock-out, and navigation. Location may be collected in the background when the App is active on your device.
- Camera and photos — Job photos captured through the App are stored securely in encrypted cloud storage and used for job documentation and quality assurance.
- Microphone and voice — The App uses your device's microphone for voice-to-text transcription of work descriptions. Audio is processed locally on your device using Apple's Speech Recognition framework and is not transmitted to or stored by American Rooter & Drain.
- Biometric data — Face ID and Touch ID are used solely for local device authentication. Biometric data is processed by your device's secure enclave and is never transmitted to or stored by American Rooter & Drain.
- Digital signatures — Customer signatures captured through the App for estimate approvals, work completion, and payment authorizations are stored securely in encrypted cloud storage and retained in accordance with applicable record-keeping requirements.
Financing applications: When a customer applies for financing through the App, their personal financial information (including name, address, income, and Social Security Number) is transmitted via TLS 1.3 encryption directly to the selected lender (such as GoodLeap or Synchrony Financial). American Rooter & Drain does not store, cache, or log Social Security Numbers or full financial account numbers. By proceeding with a financing application, the customer authorizes American Rooter & Drain to share their information with the selected lender(s) for the purpose of a loan application. This sharing is governed by the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act (GLBA) and the FTC Safeguards Rule.
The App is not available to the general public. It is restricted to authorized employees and contractors of American Rooter & Drain. If you believe you have received access to this App in error, please contact us immediately at privacypolicy@idahosplumber.com.
